Help Barry Breathe: Support His Fight

My name is Cheryl Arpin and my fiancé is Barry Beard. In November, Barry was diagnosed with sarcoidosis of the lungs. Barry had been working in Monahans, Texas. We had such a great future planned out. Barry and I have been together over a year now, and we’re in the middle of planning our wedding for May 2025.

In late October, Barry fell ill. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and pleurisy. He was put on medication but didn’t seem to get better. After three trips to the ER and one hospital stay, Barry flew down to Kyle, Texas to receive further evaluation and treatment. Unfortunately, he fell ill and was hospitalized again. Barry stayed in the hospital for about a week and was discharged with medication to control the sarcoidosis. Due to his illness, he has not been able to work since early November, which means now he has lost his insurance and income.

On Monday, January 13th, Barry woke up feeling like he couldn’t breathe. He went to his doctor and he was admitted to the hospital after an ER visit. Barry now needs a medical procedure to further determine a better treatment plan for him. He’s now on oxygen full-time to keep his O2 levels within normal range. The doctors have also added more medication to try to keep him alive. We are financially struggling to stay on top of his medical bills.

Barry has always been an active person. He’s well known in the car dealership business. He’s been a Fixed Operator Specialist for many dealerships around Austin, Corpus Christi, Big Lake, and Monahans. Barry is such an adventurous, outgoing person; however, since his diagnosis, he has some days where breathing is an issue. He has had a few good days and quite a bit more bad days.

Barry has four children, two adopted and two biological. He is also a grandfather to a beautiful 18-month-old. His two youngest children are 11 and 14, and he is now the stepdad to my 15-year-old. We are raising funds to help pay for this medical procedure and his medications so he can get back to that same ol' Barry we know and love. Any donations would be appreciated.
