Help Barry and Linda Rebuild After Fire

We are Michelle Lomotan and Karen Fukushima, local to the Glendale/La Crescenta area, and we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our dear friends, Barry and Linda Smith, who have been long-time members of the Altadena community. We have had the privilege of being friends with them for almost 13 years. Their daughter, Isla, has been friends with our daughters since they were infants in daycare. Barry and Linda are deeply involved in their community, regularly hosting holiday block parties with their wonderful neighbors to spread joy. Linda is also a very active and dedicated parent, volunteering her time at their local school.

Sadly, Barry and Linda lost their home of nearly 30 years to the devastating Eaton Fire. They were out of town, scheduled to return on January 8th, only to receive the heartbreaking news that their home and neighborhood had been completed destroyed . They had no time to save anything from their house, and we are all deeply saddened by this loss. They are not ones to ask for help, so we are stepping in on their behalf to support in gathering the essentials they need to start rebuilding their lives. Like so many others affected by the fires, they are just trying to get by one day at a time.

This GoFundMe is to help Barry and Linda cover basic needs. They have exhausted their resources with their insurance and still find themselves short on essentials. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated. Let's come together to help them regain some stability and bring a sense of routine back to their lives during this difficult time.
