I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt story about my beloved rescue dog, Barrett, and a request for your support.

Barrett came into my life at the end of July 2024. He was found in a heartbreaking state—malnourished, dirty, smelly, and without any tags or a collar. On top of that, he had not been neutered. It was clear from the moment I saw him that Barrett was meant to be part of my family and the perfect companion to my other dog. He has brought so much joy and love into our home.

However, on Wednesday morning, Barrett started limping. Concerned, I took him to the vet on Friday. After a thorough examination and x-rays, the vet discovered that Barrett had suffered a prior hip fracture before I adopted him. Sadly, the injury had never healed properly, which has now caused further damage. The vet suspects that Barrett’s previous owners may have abandoned him because they could not afford the surgery he desperately needed.

To give Barrett the chance to live a healthy and pain-free life, he requires a full hip replacement. The cost of this surgery is over $8,000—an expense that is difficult for me to manage alone. Barrett means the world to me, and I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure he receives the treatment he needs.
