Help Barrett and Kristen with Expenses

Thank you for being part of Georgie's story! After experiencing Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) in late January, and preparing for an early delivery, Kristen went into labor on February 8th at Duke University Hospital, and Georgia "Georgie" Lynne Phillips made her debut at just 23 1/2 weeks gestation, at 1lb 4oz and 12 in. long in the early hours of February 9th. She has since been in the tender care of the Duke Intensive Care Nursery team and is "acting her age". While Georgie still needs assistance breathing and regulating the major functions of her body, she has remained stable and spunky throughout the first week of her life. She is a little wiggle worm, and she responds to mama and papa's voices each visit.

 

Barrett and Kristen have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support they've received over the past several weeks. Experiencing the body of Christ at work during their time of great need has been humbling.

 

Many friends and family have been asking how to offer help and support. Over the coming weeks, there will be many expenses due to the frequent trips to Duke that Barrett and Kristen will need to make. This account is intended to help them cover those expenses - things as simple as fuel, grocery delivery, meals at the hospital, and endless amounts of hand sanitizer and hand lotion. If additional medical expenses arise, we will expand the fundraising goal and send out updates.

But we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
