Hello Moonstruck Family,

There has been a very sad event within our alumni. On January 11th, towards the evening, a very happy, seemingly very healthy Barger (Millie/S'more), renamed Zuko by his family, became severely, acutely ill and lost his life at only 13 weeks of age. The emergency vet bills were significant and no official answer was found as to what exactly was wrong with him. The veterinary team were stumped and had never seen such symptoms in puppy of his age. This has been absolutely devastating for the family. As first time, and VERY excited dog owners, they have heavily invested in his purchase price and even going ao far as to fully relocate to a home that would permit pet ownership at the last moment when their landlord renegged on the go-ahead to bring a dog home. The emotional toil, as well as the financial one, has been significant in such a short period of time. Moonstruck is replacing Zuko and covering the flight costs to send the new puppy to the West Coast. However, this only cuts just some of the sting of this horrible situation. I am reaching out to our Moonstruck family, because I know you all are an amazing group, with this Go Fund Me in the ultimate goal to raise $3500 to help cover the portion of the emergency fees that insurance wouldn't cover, the private cremation of Zuko as well as the training classes that were paid for that will no longer be attended. This is a one-off tragedy that no new puppy parent should have to experience. Let's show them the love of the Moonstruck community and help make this very sad moment a little more bearable for this amazing family who only wanted a fuzzy friend to love. ❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍
