Our friend, Barbra Decker, and her dog, Roxy, recently experienced a devastating fire in their small studio apartment. The fire destroyed Barbra’s place to live and the majority of her belongings, leaving her and Roxy without a home. Barbra was brought to our church plant in Van Nuys, CA, The Upper Room Church, 16 months ago. We are so proud of the advances she has made—from being homeless and without salvation to becoming repentant, Holy Ghost filled, and baptized in Jesus’ name. After approximately nine months of faithfully coming to church and investing time in Bible study, Barbra was able to secure a one-bedroom, one-bath ADU in Burbank, CA.
We are heartbroken to know that our sister is now back to living in her car. Barbra works for Lyft and as a caregiver for IHSS, but she does not have the funds needed to start again. As her church family, we want to pull together with friends, family, and the people of God to show Sis Barbra just how sweet it is to be a part of the wonderful Family of God.
The funds raised will go toward a security deposit, first and last month’s rent, and home necessities to help Barbra and Roxy find stable housing and rebuild. Whatever monetary offering you can give is GREATLY appreciated. Your support will help Barbra and Roxy get back on their feet and remind them that they are surrounded by a loving community.
