Barbara Sall, my sister, was a resident at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bristol, PA. On December 23, 2025, her life changed dramatically when a gas leak led to an explosion and fire at the facility. In a matter of moments, Barbara lost everything she owned, including her electric personalized wheelchair that gave her independence and mobility. The devastation has left her without the essentials she needs to live comfortably and safely.
Barbara is paraplegic and has no function in her legs. Her left hand is contracted and nonfunctional, which means she cannot use manual wheelchairs. The loss of her electric wheelchair has made it extremely difficult for her to move around and maintain her independence. In addition to her mobility challenges, Barbara now needs clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and other basic items to help her settle into a new facility and rebuild her life from scratch.
All funds raised will go directly toward purchasing a new electric wheelchair for Barbara, as well as providing her with the essentials she needs to get established in her new home. Our family is deeply grateful for any support you can offer—no amount is too big or too small. Again, we are reaching out to the community asking for help to make this unforeseen tragedy for Barbara Sall more endurable.
