On June 20th, a powerful storm swept through Bemidji, Minnesota, destroying my mother Barbara Eckman’s home in the early morning hours. In a matter of moments, she lost everything she owned—her furniture, personal belongings, and the place she called home. Since then, Barbara has been staying with me, but it’s been a challenge. Her workplace is a long distance away, making it difficult for her to keep up with her job and daily life. The loss has been overwhelming, and she is trying to stay strong as she faces the uncertainty of starting over.

Barbara’s most urgent needs are furniture and funds to help her secure a new place to live.
