Barbara Marques is one of those rare people who radiates warmth and kindness in every interaction. With every person. She is the kind of friend who immediately feels like family and makes everyone around her feel loved and supported.

Barbara came into my life when she started dating my good friend Tucker. She soon joined our weekly "Survivor" fantasy league and became an important part of our inner circle. Barbara and Tucker even made it official when they got married in April.

A week and a half ago, she was taken by ICE at Tucker and Barbara's properly scheduled green card meeting at the Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles. At the end of what they were told was a successful meeting, the officer used the excuse of a broken copier to trick her into walking away from her lawyer. Once separated from her legal counsel, she was arrested. The reason for her detention was due to a single letter sent in 2019 that was not received and led to a missed court date. Barbara was not aware of this letter until she was detained.

Family has been working with lawyers since that time to correct the situation. Last night, she was taken from the Adelanto facility in Southern California to a location outside of California and faces the very real possibility of being removed from the country. This is all despite her lawyer filing a temporary restraining order to stop this exact thing from happening.

Tucker and Barbara have been working tirelessly with legal experts to fight for her right to stay, but these legal battles are complex, urgent, and expensive. The coming weeks will be critical in determining Barbara’s future - and we need your help!
