Help Barb Holstein Pay for Medical Disaster Bills

Hi, my name is Theresa Brown and I am fundraising for our friend, Barb Holstein who has experienced the double whammy of loss of income and huge medical expenses not covered by insurance. If you can give anything at all, it will go a long way in helping our friend get back on her feet.

Here is a message from Barb that I asked her to write up to help explain her situation:

At the end of Feb. I came to FL for a quick 4 day weekend to celebrate an event with my niece and nephew. I had to scoot right back to CT because it was the beginning of tax season.

In a complely fluke fall, I ended up shattering every bone and tendon in my ankle, actually severing my foot from my body internally. The picture below shows the hideously painful apparatus I lived in for 3 weeks waiting for the swelling to go down so they could do the major reconstructive surgery.

I am still trapped in a FL rehab facilty, just found out I need yet another major surgery on the other leg, also injured in the fall. I'm getting buried alive in insurance copays, hospital bills, daily facility charges above what insurance covers, the need to fully handicap my home before I can go there, and the $11k it will cost me to get there. All at a time when I lost my major source of revenue, tax season.
