Help Barb and Terry Pliner with medical expenses

Hi, my name is Joe Makovec and I'm starting this fundraiser for my sister Barb (Makovec) and her husband, Terry Pliner.

This fundraiser is to help them with medical bills. If you have not heard, Terry was at work on August 6, 2021 when he collapsed. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Hillsboro and it was discovered he had an aortic dissection. Basically, 2 of the 3 layers of his aorta had ruptured and emergency surgery was needed. He was then transported by helicopter to La Crosse where a team of 5 surgeons performed surgery immediately to save his life. The surgeons estimated prior to surgery that his chances of surviving were 50/50. After 5 hours of surgery, his aorta was repaired but he would remain in the hospital for almost 2 weeks with further complications and an additional surgery. He now faces a long recovery of rehab and adapting to a different lifestyle to maintain health.

Any funds raised will not only help with medical bills but also the costs Barb, Stacie and Michael incurred driving back and forth to visit him as well as overnight stays in La Crosse.
