Hi Everyone, my name is Barakah, and I’m a single mother and creative who's been fighting for my life for 3 years now — and for the opportunity to watch my 11-year-old son grow up and continue my life missions.

I’m currently on dialysis, which means my life is tied to a machine just to stay alive. 3x a week, 4 hours each session. Every day is a battle with exhaustion, pain, and uncertainty. I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for my son, but dialysis is not a cure — it only buys time.

Recently, I was given a glimmer of hope.

After months of research, patient testimonies, and medical consultations, I learned about an advanced stem cell treatment in Mexico that has helped many people with kidney failure regain function and reduce or even eliminate their need for dialysis. Studies done on stem cell treatment all over the world confirm not only is stem cell treatment an excellent option to regain kidney function, but it also serves as a treatment to reverse the culprit of my kidney failure in the first place - Lupus. This treatment is not available in the U.S., and insurance does not cover it. But it may offer me the chance at a real future — a future where I can work, create, travel, provide for my son, and live without the constant fear of medical decline. Why I Need Help

Even though this treatment offers hope, the financial cost is far beyond what I can manage alone. I currently have no car, limited income, and not being able to plan for the random long-term stays in the hospital has made full-time work extremely difficult. I’m currently staying with a friend while I try to rebuild stability for myself and my child.

I’m asking for help covering:

1. Stem Cell Treatment in Mexico — $25,000

This includes the full medical treatment protocol, labs, consultations, and follow-up care.

2. Lodging for Me, My Son, and My Mother in Mexico for 4 weeks — $2,500

My mother will be traveling with us to help care for my son while I undergo treatment and recovery. We need a safe, clean place to stay near the clinic in Puerto Vallarta.

✈️ 3. Travel + Food for the Three of Us — $3,500

Flights, transportation, meals, and basic necessities while outside the country + reinstatement of my son's passport.

4. Filming & Documenting the Journey — $11,000

I want to record this entire journey — not only to update donors, but to share real information and hope with other dialysis patients.

This includes:

Professional filming & editing

Travel filming equipment

Post-production labor

A mini-documentary to help others in my situation
