Hi. My name is Zakir Hussain and I am fundraising for Baqir's family so that this family of four may immigrate to Canada and make this heaven on earth their home.
Baqer's family belongs to the Shia Hazara nation of Afghanistan but they left their country for fear of terrorism and the genocide of the Hazara minority due to increased threats to their lives and, they had to leave their home in Afghanistan in 2015 to find a place which they can call home and where they can settle and help achieve their dreams.
Baqer, his spouse, and their 2 beautiful children are currently in Indonesia as refugees certified by UNHCR. They have been waiting since 2015 for their turn for a re-settlement to a new country but they have very little hope of being fulfilled keeping in view the existing realities of the matter.
I would like to bring this family to Canada using the Gov't of Canada's Group of Five programme. I have arranged for 5 Canadians who would like to sponsor this family to come to and settle in Canada but do not have the financial resources to support this family in their first year. The purpose of this fundraising is to generate $30,000 CAD, the funds required to support this family for their first year.
We ask for and request you to donate generously for Baqer & his family so that they may immigrate to Canada, fulfill their dreams, and have their son properly treated and taken care of.
We thank you for your support and cooperation.
About Baqir's family
As we all know that the Hazara minority in Afghanistan has been discriminated against, tortured, massacred, and prosecuted for years and years by the government or by extremist groups such as Taliban, ISIS, and other groups just because of their different beliefs, features, and races. As the threats towards us peaked we were compelled to leave our country, our home, our friends, and family in hopes to find a place where we could live in peace and without threats. We immigrated to Indonesia in February 2015 and were approved as a refugee by UNHCR. Now, after more than 6 years of tough and burdensome life without any basic rights such as work, education we are still patiently waiting to be resettled to a new place permanently. My children do not have the right to study in Indonesian schools and I do not have the right to work to support my family's needs, our expenses are difficult to cover. My youngest son, despite being 4.5 years old, can't speak very well, we have been told by the doctor that due to the lack of social interactions and communication with kids the same age as him, it has caused him a big problem, he needs special instructors, speech therapy and special training to treat him and if he isn't provided such treatments at a young age he will face bigger problems that cannot be treated once he's older, but we cannot afford or provide his needed treatments here which is very concerning for us because as time passes his condition might get worse to the point it can't be treated anymore. In spite of all the hardships in our lives, we believe in Jesus Christ and we walk through these days with patience and prayer and hope that we will receive the help we need. Now that UNHCR has declared that they will not be able to resettle us, we only have the choice to return home or find a private sponsor, it is impossible for us to return home because insecurity and threats have become much greater than before. On the other side, because of the change of our religion and belief in Jesus Christ, we are in great danger of being persecuted or even killed. In the end, the only way for us to get out of this misery is a private sponsor, Mr. Zakir, and his friends are willing to help us with. My dream is to educate my children in a safe environment and I hope one day like you I can help other people, your donations and cooperation are extremely appreciated.
God bless you all
