My beloved dog, Banx, recently became paralyzed in his hind legs. He is 7½ years old and has been happy, healthy, full of personality, and a constant source of joy his entire life. His paralysis came on suddenly and without warning. After rushing him to the hospital, Banx underwent a CT scan and was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)—a degenerative condition that affects the spinal discs. The scan revealed a severe herniation causing pressure on his spinal cord. Banx underwent emergency surgery to remove the herniated disc material and relieve the pressure in hopes of restoring function and preventing further damage. He has now been in the hospital for four days. Through all of this, Banx has been unbelievably brave. If you know him, you know his sweet spirit—he is still singing and gobbling, trying to be his joyful self, even though he hasn’t been able to eat and is surely missing his favorite snacks.



Unfortunately, the cost of his hospital stay, surgery, diagnostics, and ongoing care is extremely high and not covered by insurance. As hard as it is for me to ask, I am reaching out for support so that I can continue giving Banx the best life he deserves. Any contribution—big or small—would mean the world to us.
