Help Banner Walk Again
Donation protected
On Monday, December 14th, 2020, Banner's Mom, Amanda, noticed Banner wasn't feeling well. She immediately made an appointment and got him to the vet. The vet said that Banner appeared to have a minor back injury and required rest and pain medication to get back to normal. They attributed the injury to Banner playing with his new puppy sister, Lucy.
On Tuesday morning, Banner was able to walk around and appeared to be doing ok. However, by Tuesday afternoon, Banner's back legs became completely paralyzed and he was completely unable to stand up, let alone walk or hold himself up to go to the bathroom.
By Wednesday, Amanda feared the worst. Banner wasn't getting any better, so the their vet immediately sent them to a specialist emergency pet hospital that specializes in spinal injuries, 2 hours away from their home.
Wednesday afternoon, the veterinary specialist diagnosed Banner with Intervertebral disk disease (IVDD). He had slipped discs in the middle of his back and they were pushing into the nerve, which caused the paralysis in his back end and legs. The vet advised performing emergency surgery to fix him. The vet felt the surgery would yield a successful, positive outcome.
On Thursday, Banner was rushed into emergency surgery for his back. Everything went as planned and he is expected to make a full recovery.
However, due to the pandemic, the strain of the cost of paying for this life saving surgery for Banner, is a huge strain on Amanda. The total cost up to this point is $7000. Like many of us, Amanda hasn't worked for a decent part of this year due to COVID-19. Although she'd never ask for help, I can't imagine the stress this puts on her. She'd do anything for her fur-child and for those she cares about, despite the burden to her. She is one of the most selfless people I know and is always there for others when they need it the most.
For those reasons, I'm asking everyone for help.... Please help me, help her, pay for Banner's surgery. For every little bit that's donated, we can help and take the stress of this burden away, and give her more time and energy to focus of Banner's recovery.
Thank you- from myself, Amanda, and most of all Banner. ❤
