Help Banner Fight Cancer

Donation protected

Hi! My name is Logan. I’m asking for help to offset some of the specialty vet, surgical and chemotherapy costs for my heart dog, Banner.

DIAGNOSIS:
Banner was diagnosed with anal sac adenocarcinoma at the beginning of 2023 at the age of 10. We had a successful surgery in May of ‘23 to remove his tumor which allowed us to spend almost 2 years cancer-free! Unfortunately, his most recent checkup has revealed that his cancer has metastasized to his lymph nodes. We’re all extremely devastated, but hoping for an optimistic outcome with surgery. We are getting a lumpectomy in the coming month and will start IV chemotherapy thereafter. Banner might be 12, but you would never know it! Other than the cancer diagnosis, he is in great physical health which is why we are continuing to fight.

ABOUT BANNER:
The universe is funny in the way that it seems to conspire to bring exactly what you need even before you know you need it. I had grown up with dogs all my life, but as an adult Banner was MY first. He’s the one who defines my experience with what it truly means to have a dog. He’s been there through it all—through heartache, through loss, through joy, through change, and through love — in ways only a dog can be.

I was a college student living on my own, navigating bad relationships, loneliness and uncertainty of life, when I saw his picture on Facebook. I knew, without a doubt, that he was meant to be mine. From the very first night I met him, Banner has become my constant. He has been there through so many pivotal moments in my life — the biggest moments one would say — offering unconditional love or a laugh or a hug when I need it most. He’s always down for a Starbucks run, a hike or just a lazy day on the couch. Ready for any adventure, big or small (unless it’s to the vet).

Together, we’ve lived in six different houses, each one a new chapter of its own. He’s helped me navigate the waters of marriage and has been a consolation through many long nights and troublesome days of motherhood. Banner has never complained about the long hours or the change of scenery. He’s just happy to be where ever I am... right there in the passenger’s seat of my car and my life.

As I think about the 12 years we’ve spent together, I realize that Banner hasn’t been just my dog, he’s been my best friend. A soul mate covered in fur. I’ve grown up with him by my side in ways I never could have imagined and I’m so grateful for the years we’ve spent together. He’ll always be one of the greatest loves of my life and the one who set an unattainable standard for any dog here after.

Any donation is much appreciated. Nothing is too small. Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me help Banner. ❤️
