On October 15, Banks went to Urgent Care for some abdominal pain. After an examination and some testing, he was sent over to the ER. With additional tests, a CT scan, and blood work, he was found to be in need of an emergency appendectomy. A few hours later, Banks was in surgery. Surgery went well; he stayed overnight and was sent home to heal the next day. After a few days, he received a call that the pathology on his appendix showed cancer cells. Fast forward a few weeks, tons of blood work, and more scans, he was scheduled again for another surgery, this time a laparoscopic right colectomy.
On November 14th, Banks underwent the right colectomy; however, surgery did not go as planned, and instead of laparoscopy, the doctor had to open him up. After several hours, the outcome of the surgery was discussed with family members. The doctor had to open him up to remove more of his colon than planned and twice as many lymph nodes and adhesions.
After the five weeks of recovery needed post-op, Banks will have to endure some intense chemotherapy.
With that being said, Banks is going to need some help! He will be off work for 5 weeks for this second surgical recovery time but will also need to be off for chemotherapy. He has already been off work since October 15th. Banks is a single-income, single dad and needs our help while he kicks cancer's butt and recovers properly without having to stress about bills. Any little bit helps and will help cover bills and additional medical costs that come up.
Thanks for supporting our family member/friend!!
