Hello everyone! My name is Selena and I found my new friend here, Bambi, wandering in the cold 2 days ago. Bambi was terrified, trembling, and starving. She was so scared she ran and hid under my warm car, growling at me. I luckily was able to catch her with a bowl of tuna and a slip leash. Coming home, Bambi quickly realized I was here to help and became this sweet little baby, falling asleep in my lap. As a previous foster, I was able to reach out to the rescue I work with and get her quickly into their vet. Upon the physical examination and X-rays, it appears that Bambi has a growth in her mouth as well as additional complications in her body. She is also extremely malnourished, and her eyes aren’t looking too good either. My rescue and their vet have come to the difficult decision of euthanasia. However, Bambi has been progressing during her stay; she is active, alert, curious, and exploring. She has been eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom normally. She has also been brave enough to venture up and down my basement stairs on her own (my adult dog Cosmo is even afraid to do that!!). I truly think she has a fight still left in her. She doesn’t seem to be in pain; she isn’t sensitive to my touch and even lets me scratch that side of her face with no issues.

With your aid, I plan to get Bambi a separate examination from another veterinarian that could give a second opinion, as well as conduct blood work and a biopsy of the mass. If benign, and being a viable option, I would like to explore avenues of surgical removal.

As a single 25-year-old with 3 fur babies alone, the expenses of taking on her medical needs are extremely challenging. I am currently seeking out aid/coverage for the second opinion examination as well as testing. This pricing can vary depending on the veterinarian and if a specialist is needed. Depending on what the treatment plans are, I am hoping to raise enough for surgery if needed.

I believe Bambi deserves a fair shot at a new life and I strive to be her greatest advocate and support her in making sure she has the greatest quality of life, whatever the end result may be. Thank you so much for reading her story.
