Hello everyone, thank you for viewing Bambi's Go Fund Me page. Bambi began feeling ill Wednesday March 24, 2021 with fever, body aches, cough, and congestion. After taking it easy for a couple days, Bambi's symptoms continued to worsen leading to her admission to Amita St. Joseph Medical Center on Friday March 26, 2021. Upon arrival to the hospital, Bambi was already septic secondary to COVID-19 infection and a severe kidney infection. Bambi's oxygen levels were already in the 80s upon admission. Bambi continued to decline in the hospital with oxygen levels as low as the 50s, resulting in a transfer to the Intensive Care Unit where Bambi was nearly placed on the ventilator. Thankfully her medical team was able to avoid placing her on the ventilator by using other devices that supply high amounts of oxygen and pressure in order to assist her breathing. Bambi has since been transferred out of the ICU to the Progressive Care Unit where she remains on an oxygen device known as AVAPS. This oxygen mask is the last step before a ventilator is required to maintain sufficient oxygen levels. Bambi is trying to remain positive despite how difficult and frightening this process has been. Today (Friday April 9th, 2021) marks 2 weeks of being in the hospital on high amounts of oxygen. It is becoming evident that Bambi will have a long road to recovery and will not be able to be discharged home for an unknown amount of time due to the high amounts of oxygen her body is requiring.
Bambi is a very well loved daughter, sister, friend, mother of four, grandmother of seven, and dog mom of two puppies. Bambi is also a business owner to a business that requires her attendance and full attention. As you can imagine, Bambi is not only struggling with her health at this time but she is also struggling financially due to her illness and the uncertainty of when she may be able to return home and to work. As many of you may know, Bambi fell critically ill in 2018 from a tick bite that left her temporarily comatose secondary to a bacterial infection and encephalopathy. With that being said, Bambi's medical expenses from both 2018 and this event are overwhelming on her single income. Our purpose for this campaign is to raise money to ease Bambi's financial burden so that she can focus on her health and healing at this time. All donations will go towards medical expenses and current life expenses so that Bambi can return back to her home once able. Please keep Bambi in your thoughts and prayers and thank you all so much for your donations.
