Hello! Today we are asking for your help to keep BamBam baking for our community of Portland, Maine and beyond . . .
Like the rest of the planet, we are striving to adapt to the new normal (nothing normal about it, though!) of life-with-pandemic, and trying to work our way toward life-after-pandemic. We have drastically cut our staff to two (Mom and one of our daughters), with auxiliary help from Dad and our son, when required, and safe to do. We have been fortunate to be able to stay open in a limited way, and although everything has been cut waaaay back, we still have been able to deliver some smiles. Which might even be a little more valuable amidst these trying circumstances!
We have been the owners at BamBam for three years now and have been so fortunate to get the opportunity to grow a great thing, trying to lift it higher each year by adding our experience and interests and by listening to you all. We are 100% gluten-free... yes, everything! We believe that gluten-free food should not only not be gross (a lot of it is out there), but should be delicious. We love cooking for you, love making the best food we know how to make for your enjoyment. We love helping put that smile on your face, whether it is at a wedding, birthday, celebration of any kind, or just a regular old day in our shop, rain or shine... It is the best!
Our aim was for 2020 to be a year of figuring out how to expand, how to add to what we do. The current situation calls for a shift in thinking, and we are at a major turning point... how to make it through, and remain open, let alone getting back to thriving?
We miss seeing you, and miss the hum and fun of our regular crowd! We deeply appreciate those of you who have been in a position to continue to order from us and a huge shout out to the small, local businesses who are shoulder-to-shoulder with us (for example: Coffee By Design with their always amazing team, and their incredible "Coffee By Design Cares" initiative for medical workers that we are proud to be a part of!) in trying to navigate all this, and keep going. You all inspire us with your creativity, your tenacity, and your flexibility, not to mention your deep care for our community.
We know what a difficult and uncertain time this is for everyone, and we understand that there are many individuals and organizations in need. If you’re in a position to support us we’ll be deeply grateful to receive that help, and any donation to this campaign will contribute to the cash resources we need to address the immediate future, to take care of our staff, and to create the structures to take BamBam into the future. And if you could let others know about this campaign, we’ll appreciate that immensely, too!
If all goes well, we can get our staff back to work safely and open our doors wide. We so look forward to seeing you in person, when that is safe to do!
