Hi, I’m Sarah — Baloo’s human — and I’d love to share a little about what’s going on with my beautiful boy.
Baloo is my soul dog. He’s 6 years old and truly one of a kind — calm, gentle, and full of love. He’s also a qualified therapy dog, and together we volunteer through Canine Concern, visiting local schools, hospitals, care homes, and even the local ambulance hub to bring joy and comfort to those who need it most.
What’s Happened?
Recently, I noticed a lump on Baloo’s back foot. At first, I hoped it was nothing serious, but after a visit to the vet, we were told it was more than just a cyst — it was a solid fatty lump that needed to be removed.
Baloo had surgery a few days later, and we were advised to send the lump off for biopsy. Unfortunately, while waiting for the results, Baloo burst his stitches and developed an infection — so we’ve been back and forth to the vet ever since.
Then, on Wednesday 6th August 2025, I received the news I’d been dreading:
The lump was a soft tissue sarcoma.
To give Baloo the best chance, the next step is to remove the rest of the affected toe. It’s heartbreaking, but I know it’s the right decision to give him the best chance at a happy, healthy life — continuing to do what he loves most: spreading joy to others.
Why I'm Asking for Help
Unfortunately, Baloo’s insurance has now reached its limit for this condition. Until now, they’ve been amazing, but the remaining care — including the next surgery — falls entirely on me.
If you’re able to help in any way — even £1 — it would mean the world to us. Every single penny will go directly toward helping Baloo heal, get the surgery he needs, and get back to living his best life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, or donating.
With love,
Sarah & Baloo
