Hello Friends and Family of Baloo, animal lovers & Great Dane fans!

As an animal lover, I’ve personally read & donated to causes like these. I never thought I’d be in the situation to have to create one for my best friend, Baloo. And writing this makes it so real. If you know me, you know Baloo is my world. He’s been part of my family for over 10 years (almost 11) & he is everything to us.

Being the cute but *old man that he is, he’s developed a lot of fatty lumps and bumps over time. Thankfully they’ve never been a concern until last month; I felt a new one near his tail. Upon his vet visit, we diagnosed Baloo with Soft Tissue Sarcoma (Cancer). We couldn’t believe it and immediately felt broken by the news. How could my sweet camel be sick?

Baloo’s demeanor had not changed, & he had no visible symptoms - so we were SO grateful to have caught it early. You’d have no idea he was sick otherwise and were hoping to keep it that way.

We proceeded with testing to ensure Baloo’s overall health was in good shape and nothing had spread. We were so thankful for the favorable prognosis. However, unfortunately, we still need him to have surgery as soon as possible, and he will also need physical therapy to build his strength.

The surgeon wants to remove the mass immediately (he is scheduled for surgery on December 7th) & during this procedure, Baloo will also require complete anesthesia.

For any dog, surgery is costly.

Since Baloo is a 10 yr old Great Dane, the cost is even greater. Every dollar helps us get a step closer to getting our boy back healthy & cancer free!

Everyone who knows Baloo will tell you he’s one of the most loving, loyal, caring dogs, and we love him SO much.
