Help Ballou Students Reach Vocal Jazz Summit

Hi, my name is Barry Moton, and I am the Vocal teacher at Ballou High School in Southeast Washington, D.C. I’m incredibly proud to lead an amazing group of young artists in our vocal jazz ensemble, Knight and Day.

Our students have been invited to perform at the prestigious Vocal Jazz Summit in Virginia Beach on June 7–8, 2025. This is an incredible opportunity where they will learn from world-class jazz educators, connect with other talented vocalists, and experience a live performance by the phenomenal Samara Joy.

We are raising $2,366 to cover the cost of hotel rooms, meals, transportation, and student registration fees for 8 students to attend.

Many of our students have never traveled for a national music event like this before. Your support will not only help them share their gifts but will also expose them to professional opportunities that could change the course of their lives.
