Help Baldy's Fight To Beat COVID
Donation protected
Hi, this is Brian "Baldy" Bargdill's girlfriend Julie. Please feel free to share this on your timeline :) He was diagnosed with some serious lung conditions, including pulmonary fibrosis among others, this year. These conditions caused lung damage that can't be reversed.
On December 23rd, he started getting sick. He tested COVID positive on Christmas Eve and quickly developed COVID pneumonia. With his lung conditions, this is an extremely critical situation as COVID affects the lungs, with COVID pneumonia filling the lungs with fluid making it extremely difficult to breathe for a healthy person, let alone someone who already had limited lung capacity. With his previous lung conditions, he is in the fight for his life as he tries to beat this, especially since he contracted the Delta variant which is the harshest variant.
The doctors have thrown all the medical science they have available at him. He is on 24/7 oxygen and struggles to keep his O2 level up even on oxygen. They say it is up to his lungs and his immune system at this point to take over and start working again. His lungs are still full of COVID and struggle to function properly. We aren't seeing much progress other than as of writing this, he has stayed off a ventilator.
He has been in the hospital for a week already, with no idea when he might get to go home to recover, and no idea when he might be able to return to work. The medical bills are mounting. The doctors have no idea how long he might be in the hospital trying to get his lungs to work again. We are working on getting him disability pay, but there is a delay and process for that to happen. He is exhausted and stressed so my goal is to take some of the financial stress off of him so he can focus on healing. For those who know him, he is extremely proud and would never ask for help. He is not asking. I am asking for your help on my own so I can take care of everything at home for him and he can focus on fighting to recover.
Thank you all for your love and support! It means the world to us. Please feel free to share this. We appreciate all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
