Help Balaka Kalagho Life saving surgery
Donation protected
My name is Balaka Kalagho, and I’m reaching out with hope in my heart and faith in the kindness of strangers. I come from Chitipa in the Northern Region of Malawi and now live in Rumphi District, where I was raised.
My medical journey began in 2014, during my early years in high school, when I developed a small cyst. At first, it seemed minor—but over the years, it grew steadily. I’ve been in and out of hospitals, and in 2017, I underwent two surgeries in an attempt to remove it. Sadly, the cyst has continued to grow and now severely impacts my ability to eat and live a normal life.
Just recently, doctors told me I urgently need another surgery. The cost of the operation is MK10 million (around £5,000)—an amount far beyond what I or my family can afford.
I am currently unemployed, doing what I can to support my wife and two children through small part-time farming jobs. What I earn is only enough to meet our most basic needs. Despite my efforts, there is no way I can raise the funds for this life-saving operation on my own.
That’s why I am humbly asking for your help.
Any donation, big or small, will bring me one step closer to receiving the surgery I need to survive. Your support can change my life—and bring hope and healing to my family.
Please consider donating and sharing my story. Your kindness and generosity mean more than I can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. May God bless you for your compassion.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Balaka Kalagho
