WE MADE IT HALF WAY TO THE GOAL THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Hello there, My name is Maxie ( They/Them) you may know me as Baja online.
I'm an disabled digital artist & Merch maker, a few weeks ago we got hit with an sudden tax bill which was a lot and completely unexpected amounted to $936 USD. With payment fees $956 We are excluding the fees from the campaign's goal.

Letter in the mail:

Transaction itself

In the same week we got into an accident, not with another car and no one was hurt we thought this would be an simple tire repair but this turned out to be fixing the control arms (excuse my bad car terminology) on both left and right side one side the joint was loose so due to that it had to be replaced due to safety reasons.

This was an unexpected $1,001

We tried to finance at the repair shop but even if we were at the proper amount to do so, we were rejected by the automated system. This was in the same week no time to recover from the first bill, My partner is the only one that works so this has hit us incredibly hard.

Itemized Bill & Transactions

(or at least what GFM can show of it full can be seen here )

So far this was 1.9K.. but then we got an phone call from the hospital,

About a month ago ( On the 18th of November) HP (HappyPenguinINK) My partner, got a injury while at work (Not an work related injury) . He accidentally smashed his thumb so hard on a work truck door (as an passenger) it turned completely dark blue/purple on the nail. The Pain was some of the worst he had experienced in a while. By the time he needed help every urgent care was closed, so we had to go to the local ER.

When we went it was from 7PM-1AM back in November, They took X-rays of the thumb and used an hot tool to pierce a hole in the nail alleviate the pressure of blood that was built up underneath the nail. There was no sign of a bill at the hospital or calls until little bit last week.. They didn't know where to charge to. We thought he had insurance which we just found out only covered... contraceptives... (Thanks). And did'nt let him ask for an itemized bill..

Here is how it's healing up

While the bill was not as much as the Hit & Run accident by a motorcycle a few years back, we are still struggling to afford what just happened.

THIS BILL IS NOT PAID YET AS OF NOW AS WE HAVE USED ALL OF OUR FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE PAST 2 TRANSACTIONS AS WE HAD TO PAY THEN AND NOW

Here is the screenshot from his MyChart, I will update with his charts in a bit.

NOW
We are at $2.4k in the hole

I cannot work, my partner took time off for MFF (we vend at conventions) the convention didn't go well so he missed a lot of time at work so he won't be able to afford outside of his portion of rent while im a bit tight on mine due to refunds due to commission misunderstandings.

We have raised some of the funds through Ko-fi, Thank you to those who have contributed it's been helpful with our situation(s). As a large amount is commission funds none of it will be spent till the commissions are finished but due to deadlines of payments and urgencies of needing to recoup, we need to raise back up to what is held right now.

I'm both physically and mentally disabled, this has caused extreme mental and physical stress to a point where I was told to take a break from artwork for until sometime January 2026 or it can cause me complications that can send me to the hospital. This wasn't an option I wanted to do as I thought I could handle a ton of commissions but, I can only do so much, Thank you to those who have commissioned so far but I'm at an point where I might be overloading with too many and must make a limit. This is hard when we need to recoup funds quickly to afford rent and essentials and the medical bill.

I deeply appreciate all of the help, shares, and kind words, Its meant and still means a lot to us. It's been a rough holiday season, but thank you for taking the time to read and considering assisting us through a rough time. It means a great deal.

We hope to pay back for your kindness and generosity, through more creations of all kinds for everyone in and out of the community.

Happy Holidays everyone <3

Much Love , Baja & HP
