Hello, my name is Casey.
Over a year ago, I adopted Bailey from Mat-Su Animal Shelter — but our story actually started before that. One day I found Bailey on the side of the road. She ran straight to me and curled up into my neck like she already knew I was hers. A man came out of a nearby trail and I realized he was looking for her. When I asked, he confirmed she was his dog.
A week later, I was scrolling Facebook and saw Bailey posted as a stray. I immediately called the shelter and was told someone was already in line to adopt her. I refused to give up. I called every single day asking about her. When I finally got the call that she was available, I left work immediately and went to get her. From that moment on, Bailey became my light.
Shortly after adopting her, Bailey began losing hair and having allergic reactions. I have already spent a lot of money on vet visits, medications, and treatments trying to keep her healthy. She later cut her foot badly while playing in the woods I rushed her to the vet — next she ran at full force to our other dog playing and I screamed to stop but she hung her self, I truly thought she was going to die. She was ok.
Three days ago, Bailey chewed up a planter, while I was at work, I tried to stop her via cameras and I couldn't. The the next day during a bath she re-injured her neck I forgot to used her collar instead of her harness and she pulled. Since then, the swelling in her neck has been getting worse and has now spread into her cheek.
She is still eating, drinking, and trying to be playful, but I can see she is uncomfortable and hurting.
I am a single mom to two special-needs boys. I work two jobs and just paid to have a cat fixed yesterday. I am completely tapped out financially. I am using my very last funds to get Bailey seen at Big Lake Vet, but I know that won’t cover everything she may need.
I am asking for help because I cannot watch her suffer. I have reached out to rescue groups and am willing to surrender if that's the only way, I love Bailey more than I can put into words. If I cannot afford to give her the care she needs, I would rather ask for help than allow her condition to worsen.
To start, I am hoping to raise $900 to help cover:
Veterinary exam
Imaging (X-rays/ultrasound if needed)
Medications and pain management
Follow-up care
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing. Every share helps Bailey get closer to the care she deserves.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping my girl.
