Our Bailey girl is a 6-year-old golden retriever, and she is so much more than just a pet—she is truly family. A few days ago, Bailey became very sick and wouldn’t eat or drink anything. We rushed her to the emergency room, where we learned she has something lodged in her intestine. The doctors told us she needs immediate surgery to save her life. The only other option was euthanasia, which was a heartbreaking decision we couldn’t bear to make, especially with our daughters so attached to her. My oldest cried when we had to leave Bailey at the doctor, and it was so hard to see our kids so upset. We are all devastated by what’s happening, and it’s even more difficult with this happening just three days before Christmas.

The cost of Bailey’s surgery and the two-week recovery she’ll need afterwards is more than we can afford on our own. This is an unexpected hit for our family, both financially and emotionally. Normally, we would never think to ask for help, but Bailey means everything to us, and we want to do everything possible to give her the chance she deserves.
