Help Support Bailey and Her Family Through a Long Road to Recovery

Our family is reaching out to ask for support for our beautiful 16-year-old daughter/niece, Bailey, who has been through a traumatic accident involving a train and is now facing a very long and difficult road to recovery.

Bailey has suffered life-changing injuries, including the loss of three limbs. This has been an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time for Bailey and for everyone who loves her. Right now, our family is doing everything we can to be there for her, support her, and make sure she knows she is never alone through this journey.

Bailey is currently receiving care in the PICU at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Being there for her is our priority, but it also comes with expenses that our family simply cannot manage on our own. We are facing ongoing costs for gas, travel, food, and hotel accommodations as we travel back and forth to be by her side.

Our reserve has helped support our family financially during the beginning of this journey, and we are incredibly grateful for that assistance. Unfortunately, those funds have now been used, while the expenses continue.

The hospital’s social workers are able to provide $38 per day toward food, but this does not come close to covering the costs involved. NIHB currently covers one hotel room, which has also meant that our family has had to make the difficult choice of driving back and forth so that we can continue to be there for Bailey while managing the costs as best we can.

Bailey is a very loving, kind, and free-spirited young lady who loves spending time with her friends and family. She has an amazing relationship with her older brother and her four younger siblings. Bailey loves to laugh, be playful, and bring a positive energy wherever she goes. She has a beautiful spirit, and we know she would truly appreciate all the love, support, and well wishes she is receiving..

We know times are difficult for many people, and we are not asking lightly. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to Bailey and our family.
