***This campaign is for the ongoing direct support of the Al Eryan family in central Gaza. The donations are collected and spent concurrently on the family’s survival needs and any extra is saved to pay travel fees when the crossing to evacuate re-opens. When their campaign summary says that they are “close to their goal” it is misleading because as long as the borders for travel are closed, the goal cannot be met.***
My name is Molly Freeman and I'm an American citizen who is hosting this fundraiser on behalf of my friend's little brother, Bahaa in Gaza. Donations will be received to my bank account in the US and transferred to Bahaa’s Bank of Palestine account through global wire transfer, in accordance with GoFundMe's policies.
Bahaa (17), his brothers Khamis(22) and Imad (20), and their parents, Rania and Abu, are living in extreme distress due to the war. Bahaa’s home in Neisurat was completely destroyed 16 months ago due to bombing, and since then they have been displaced multiple times in their attempts to find safety. They are currently living in a tent in Al-Zawaida where food, water, and daily necessities are scarce, and when available, VERY expensive. Their lives are constantly in danger with the ceasefire having ended and bombings resumed. The family hopes to be able to resettle in Toronto, Canada, where their aunt and cousins were able to escape to shortly before the war started and evacuation fees skyrocketed.
Funds will be used for the family's immediate survival needs like food and water, clothing, and various essential provisions. Funds not used for daily survival will be saved to a travel fund which they will use to pay the fees to evacuate the area when crossings reopen and they have enough saved to pay the high price of leaving Gaza. A portion of the money raised will also cover bank transfer fees ($40 each time) incurred to wire the funds from my bank to his, as well as purchasing e-sims needed to continue communication with family and the outside world.
Please help Bahaa and his family survive the war and have a chance to rebuild their lives in a safe place.
