My cat, Badger, has been diagnosed with advanced chronic kidney disease. If his treatment goes well, he may live comfortably and happily for a few more years before his kidneys inevitably stop functioning.
To make that possible, Badger needs a strict diet of prescription foods, subcutaneous fluids to stay hydrated, and medicine to prevent toxins from building up in his system. He’ll also need routine blood tests to make sure the treatment works and if any changes happen.
I’ve already paid about $900 in vet bills just for the initial tests, meds, fluids, and tools needed—including prescription foods, pill pockets, and over-the-counter medicine.
These are ongoing expenses that I expect to keep paying for the rest of however much time he has left. If there are no complications, I anticipate paying an extra $300-400 a month on average. It’s still very early on, so this estimate may change. When I have time, I'll post updates of the receipts for his expenses.
If he passes sooner than expected, any remaining funds will go towards euthanizing, cremation, and any goods or services in memory his life.
Every contribution is very appreciated and will help lessen the struggle for us both. Thank you <3
