Help Bacon, saved from death, get to sanctuary

Donation protected
On the night of June 23, 2022 a woman l was taking an evening stroll when she suddenly heard a little rustle on the opposite side of a fence. Her curiosity got the better of her and she went to investigate it. Imagine her surprise when she saw a poor little piglet laying terrified in the brush. Not sure what to do she reached out to PJ Marcel. PJ is a leader in the Howard beach Community and runs the Howard Beach dad‘s Facebook page. PJ got on Facebook Live and requested help . They could see through visual inspection of the piglet he appeared to be injured. His tail was cut off and bloody. Unfortunately, in the Howard Beach Community ritual sacrifices are not uncommon due to the proximity and accessibility to the ocean. It is believed that this little piglet may have narrowly escaped being an offering.
PJs request set off a chain reaction of animal rescuers and emergency personnel springing to action. Meowsquad, a local cat rescue, reached out to John Debacker and Karenlynn Stracher, two very well known rescuers who have saved animals of a variety of species through out NYC and Long Island. They dropped everything and ran over to assist.
With the help of the NY State parks department, NYPD, Midwood ambulance, several community members and these rescuers the fence was cut and this little life was saved. It was so truly amazing to see everything come together to save this little terrified piglet.
This little piglet , now named Bacon , was assessed the following day at the vet. He is estimated to only be 2 1/2 months old. He is a Yorkshire farm pig and will ultimately reach nearly 400 pounds! He was covered in fleas. He also has severe diarrhea believed to be due to parasites and bilateral conjunctivitis. Ultimately, the goal is to get him to a sanctuary. Unfortunately, because he has these issues no sanctuary will take him YET. The absolutely amazing Karenlynn Stracher has stepped up to hold Bacon and care for him until he i able to go to a sanctuary. Unfortunately, this wil come at a fairly hefty cost to feed him and care for him. Karenlynn is a wildlife rehabilitator who often pays out of her own pocket to save animals. We don’t want (and she shouldn’t have to) take on the burden of paying for all of Bacons expenses alone. He quite literally eats like a pig!! So, we are asking everyone to donate to Bacons GoFundMe. All money raised will go to his food, treatment and  LIFETIME care. A decent sanctuary for him will very easily run $10,000 alone.
This little guy has been through so incredibly much in his short life. He finally has the chance to have an amazing life! He is already enjoying smelling the flowers, eating all fresh foods and just enjoying being SAFE and FREE. Please help him
thank you
