Bacon is one of those dogs who greets you with a wagging tail and a smile—no matter what he’s going through.

At first glance, you might not realize anything is wrong. He can walk. He can even do a little jog. But underneath that happy personality, Bacon is living with a painful developmental deformity in both of his front legs.

Every step puts stress on his joints. And over time, without intervention, his condition will continue to worsen—leading to increased pain, reduced mobility, and long-term damage to his elbows and wrists.

What’s Going On

Bacon has what’s called an angular limb deformity, affecting both of his front legs.

We’ve already completed X-rays, consultations, and advanced diagnostics, and his case is now being reviewed by a national board of orthopedic specialists. This is not a simple surgery—it’s complex, highly specialized, and carefully planned.

The next step is surgical correction using orthopedic implants and advanced planning (including 3D modeling) to improve the alignment of his legs and reduce long-term damage.

This surgery will not make Bacon “perfect.”

Because this is a developmental condition, there are already changes in his joints that cannot be fully reversed. Even after surgery, Bacon may still have some degree of abnormality.
