Help Babycakes Beat FIP: Urgent Funds Needed
Donation protected
We’re trying to raise funds to save our little kitty’s life. Babycakes has FIP, a fatal viral infection, and there’s treatment available to save her life. But, we don’t have the money for the medication. She’s not even 3 years old, so we want to give her a chance if we can. I (Marissa) am disabled and don’t have steady reliable income, and my husband Christian works hard daily to pay our rent and bills. In today’s world, we don’t have much money left over after the necessities are covered.
$3000 is the starting goal to cover the medication. We also have hundreds in ER vet bills to pay off, and more for normal vet fees from all the testing, stabilizing meds, etc.
Babycakes is easily the sweetest, most well-behaved cat I have ever met. We found her on the street in our neighborhood when she was a kitten and took her in as a foster with the rescue I volunteer for. Well, we foster-failed because we fell in love with her. She’s calm, happy, cuddly, extremely patient, and just overall an extraordinarily kind cat. She doesn’t even jump on the counters or scratch the furniture. She will try to steal a french fry or two, but she doesn’t have a naughty bone in her body. Baby, as we call her, sleeps curled up between us every single night.
She’s only about 2 and half years old, and it feels cruel to euthanize her when her condition is treatable, but the treatment is cost prohibitive. The options are 1) raise funds to get her the life-saving medication, 2) keep her comfortable and let the FIP slowly kill her, or 3) euthanize an otherwise comepletely healthy cat to spare her the suffering.
This cat is one of the most important beings in our life, and your help would truly mean the world to us, and to her. Thank you.
