Since January, then 3 yr old Ziggy, was experiencing some serious back pain. What doctors thought was a slipped disc, was treated with steroids, muscle relaxers, pain killers & acupuncture, out-of-pocket. Some days were better than others, but ultimately his condition worsened over the course of the next 3 months, leaving him weak and barely able to walk just before I brought him to the hospital. Finally, after an MRI and Spinal tap, doctors determined it was something worse than slipped disc disease: a spinal tumor. They have never seen such a tumor in a dog as young as Ziggy, which feels like a curse but may be a blessing; giving him an upper hand in the immune system department. The tumor has been removed and Ziggy is currently undergoing radiation therapy that lasts for 16 days in hopes to zap remaining tumor cells. I love this dog more than anything and everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him knows he is a special little man. Please help Ziggy finish his treatments and live a longer life. I started the gofundme in hopes to pay back a portion of the loan for his surgery bill, at $9,000 and the additional radiation therapy at $5,000. I feel like a jerk asking for money for my pet but anything at all is a huge help right now. Thanks everyone who took the time to stop by and read!
