Help Baby Zelah Fight Leukemia

Meet Zelah, a precious 9-month-old baby girl in the Philippines who is facing a battle that no child should ever endure. On October 10, 2023, Zelah was diagnosed with Precursor B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a diagnosis that shook our family to its core. We are thousands of miles away, but we are determined to do everything we can to ensure that Zelah overcomes this and finds her way to a bright future.

Medical Background:

Zelah's journey is just beginning, and it's a daunting one. She's fighting this aggressive leukemia with every ounce of her strength. Her treatment plan is complex and includes numerous medical procedures such as portacath (chemo port) insertion to make the treatment process less painful for her delicate body, bone marrow aspiration, FISH panel test, lumbar puncture to check for any spread of cancer to her central nervous system and intrathecal chemotherapy (spinal), chemotherapy that may extend for years, and maybe a bone marrow transplant. The financial burden of these procedures is something our family in the Philippines simply cannot manage on their own, especially since Zelah has no health insurance to cover her medical expenses.

During her initial hospitalization, Zelah's blood levels were critically low, and it was a near miss for our little fighter. Timely medical intervention saved her life. Her beautiful smile, even during the most challenging moments, has touched the hearts of everyone who has met her, including the nurses and doctors who care for her. She has inspired us to keep fighting and to never lose hope.

Our aim is to raise the necessary funds to cover Zelah's medical expenses, including all the essential procedures and the extended course of chemotherapy. We want to ensure she never has to experience the pain of needle punctures during her treatment. And of course, see her survive and thrive, so we want to support her all the way!
