Help Baby Winston Find Comfort

Winston Daffy (puppy of Sarah Daffy) - the French Bulldog - is extremely unwell.
Despite his owners desperate attempts to fund his treatment and care for him (under the advice and treatment of multiple vets and gastrointestinal specialists), he remains unwell.
Sarah has spent $21k of her own money to fund Winston's treatment (this amount far exceeds what a pet owner usually spends on their pet in its lifetime) and she's now struggling to maintain Winston's vet bills given that these funds have been exhausted in a period of less than 24 months.
So, what's wrong with Winston?
A lot... is the answer.
His symptoms have included but are not limited to:
- Acute vomiting
- Acute dhiarrea (at times consisting of blood)
- Shaking
- Chronic pain
- Nausea
- Lip smacking
- Belching
- Reflux
For Winston these symptoms are chronic and this sees Sarah take him to the vet for treatment - on average - about 2 times per week (sometimes more).
After nearly 18 months of tests, scopes, ultrasounds, dietary elimination, medicinal trials, sleepless nights and tears, Winston's chronic discomfort has been given a name - Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
This condition is cruel in its presentation and hard to treat but Sarah and Winston believe that together, they can achieve anything and have been given every indication of a positive prognosis (provided the right treatment is optimised) by Winston's vet and gastrointestinal specialist.
Treatment for this disease doesn't come cheap and specialists don't seem to know a whole lot about it so there is an enormous amount of trial and error involved when treating - no hard and fast solution (Sarah would have found one for her baby if there was).
It involves lifetime medication, food trials, immunosuppressing drugs and a whole lot of special care and love.
Together - they will get through it and Baby Winston will reach a state of stability and recovery.
But, they need your help.
Sarah's insurer did a number on her and Winston and left them in the lurch by withdrawing from the market (after all of Winston's health conditions had been pre-declared) after enjoying their hefty premium payments for a solid 12 months.
This means that each time they now go to the vet to treat Winston, instead of getting 80% of their bills back, they get nothing - enter $21k worth of debt.
Luckily Winston is pretty popular. His desperate attempts for other people's affection and attention have served him well. He's the most loving and caring and happy natured dog one is likely to meet - a pure delight. So now its time to dig deep and do what you can for the dog who loves everyone and everything despite feeling like crap most of the time - Baby Winston.
Please give what you can, for Winston, he needs you to help him on his path to wellness, comfort and a long and very happy life without his naughty tummy getting in the way.
Thank you.
