Help Baby Tedy Fight Brain Cancer
Our sweet 1-year-old Tedy was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called AT/RT. After a successful surgery, he’s beginning an intense journey of chemotherapy. We’re raising funds to help my sister and brother-in-law cover medical and living expenses while they stay by his side full-time. Tedy is the happiest, strongest little boy — and we know he will fight his hardest to beat this.

Just after celebrating his very first birthday, our sweet Tedy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called AT/RT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor) — words no parent should ever have to hear.
It all began when Tedy developed a small head tilt. His pediatrician initially thought it was from an ear infection, but when it didn’t improve after two weeks, my sister took him back for more testing. That’s when doctors discovered a brain tumor. Within days, Tedy underwent major brain surgery at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Miraculously, the surgeons were able to remove the entire visible tumor, and they shared that it was caught early while still small — about the size of his eyeball.
Because of Tedy’s young age, radiation is not an option. His oncology team has created an intensive treatment plan of multiple rounds of high-dose chemotherapy, which begins this week. The road ahead is long and uncertain, but our family is focusing on every positive: the early detection, the successful surgery, and the incredible resilience this little boy shows every single day!
Since surgery, Tedy’s head tilt has almost disappeared, he’s relearning how to walk, and he’s even started saying his first words. His smile lights up every hospital room, and his bravery inspires everyone who meets him. The hospital staff has gone above and beyond — even creating a custom book and doll to help Tedy’s big sister, 3yr old Lily, understand what her brother is going through. It’s helped her find courage in the face of something no child her age should have to face.
We are raising $200,000 to help cover the mounting medical expenses, travel costs, and living expenses while my sister stays in the hospital full-time with Tedy. This will also help ease the burden of lost income as she takes time off work to be by his side through every treatment and recovery.
Tedy is the happiest, strongest little boy — a true fighter with a contagious smile and an unbreakable spirit. We know he will give everything he’s got to beat this cancer!
Please consider donating or sharing this page to help lift some of the financial weight from my sister’s family as they focus on what truly matters: helping Tedy heal and giving him the best chance at a long, healthy life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
Tedy’s fight is our fight — and together, we believe he can win!
Eric wanted me to let everyone know that the Bookmiller family is beyond grateful for everyone’s help and they will only use the portion of the funds that they need. If they end up with extra, all leftover funds will be donated to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to help other little ones that are hurting.
