Help Baby Ted And Support Our Little Fighter Recover
Donation protected
Last week, my sweet 2-year-old nephew Ted (Teddy) was rushed to ICU with sepsis and a blood clot. His little body went into shock. It was a terrifying experience that all happened within moments.
Due to the commendable quick thinking by hospital staff and his fighting spirit, he made it through but his journey of recovery is still forthcoming.
This isn’t his first fight. As a newborn, Ted had open-heart surgery for Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA). A serious condition that he somehow overcame with strength beyond his tiny size. Now, barely a toddler, he’s battling for his life again.
His parents, Tom and Katee are the most devoted and loving people. My sister Katee, a nurse on maternity leave, and Tom, a self-employed electrician are both in the midst of juggling hospital life while raising a newborn and a four-year-old. With both of them needing to take significant time off, and no local family nearby to help, they’re under enormous emotional and financial strain.
Considering they would be mortified to ask strangers for help, it is this reason that I’m asking on their behalf. I’ve seen how hard they’re trying to hold everything together, and I know how much some extra support would mean right now.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
- Childcare for their other young children
- Medical costs, transport, and hospital parking
- Meals, bills, nappies, and essentials
- Most of all, to give Tom and Katee the ability to be present with their kids without worrying about money
I understand times are tough for many families right now and nothing makes us any more special but I’m hoping If you’re able to give anything at all, it would mean the world. And if not financial support, a share is just as powerful.
I also want to give a special thank-you to Ronald McDonald House, who have supported the family during this time. If you’d like to give in another way, they’re a phenomenal charity to consider.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity and your support for a little boy who’s already been through far too much.
