Sometimes life brings storms we never see coming.

Three weeks ago, baby Tavita Taisia Lega was rushed into surgery — doctors fighting to save his tiny body after a devastating liver and ostomy complication.

He’s been in the hospital ever since, connected to tubes and monitors that hum through the night. Yet even through the beeping machines and sleepless prayers, one thing never changes — when he hears his mama’s voice, he calms.

His mother, Christina T. Fonua, is the heartbeat of this family. She works double shifts in hospitality to care for her six children, then drives straight to Primary Children’s hospital, exhausted but determined — because when Tavita wakes up and she’s not there, he cries for her.

His father, Sam Saini Lega, and their five other little ones wait at home, praying for the day their family is whole again.

This family’s love is fierce. But right now, love alone can’t cover medical bills, lost income, and endless travel costs. They need their community to hold them up — to help bring baby Tavita home.
