Matt, Ange and brother Riley (13), a local Maitland family, had their lives changed forever when their 16-month-old baby Spencer, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, forcing their family to drop everything to begin life-saving treatment. Ange had to quit her job to become Spencer’s full-time carer, and Matt can no longer work to the same capacity, and some weeks not at all, so they are faced with an uncertain future. To help support Spencer and his family through the roller coaster that is blood cancer, we will be holding a fundraising event where our community will come together to raise funds to help Spencer make it through every scary, uncertain moment that follows a blood cancer diagnosis, while also raising awareness for the cause across the community.
