Baby Scarlett Hutchinson, the 3-month-old daughter of Michele and Connor Hutchinson, was recently diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive eye cancer that affects only about 200 babies each year.

Michele first noticed something unusual in Scarlett’s eye and because she acted quickly and pushed for answers, doctors were able to diagnose the cancer before it spread beyond her eyes. With treatment, Scarlett’s chances of survival are high but the journey ahead will be long, emotional, and filled with ongoing medical needs.

Scarlett’s Treatment Plan

Over the next 6–12 months, Scarlett will need:

- Weekly lab work

- Regular oncology visits

- Monthly surgeries under anesthesia

- Twice-monthly chemotherapy

- Medications to support her immune system

Even with insurance, these treatments and the related costs, travel, hospital stays, prescriptions, and recovery care add up quickly.
