Help baby Raphael!!!

My name is Celine, and I’m setting up this campaign on behalf of my friend Tanya who had a baby in July 2021. The baby was diagnosed with a heart issue before birth.

For the first year of his life, this little miracle baby, Raphael, spent his first nine months in the hospital with several heart surgeries and frequent breathing support after being diagnosed with HLHS - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.

As a preemie, he continually shocked and surprised doctors with his little body’s persistence in bouncing back after each surgery. After going through more surgeries in his first year of life than most people have in their lifetime, he was finally stabilized enough to be able to go home in April 2022. However, in the weeks and months since then, issues with his heart and lungs continue to make his daily life challenging and require several hospitalizations. Several months ago, he lost the use of a lung, which means there is now even more of an urgency to get him better care before he outgrows his current heart ability and struggles with lung function.

In light of these continued challenges, his Doctor and Medical Team have indicated the necessity of both a heart and lung transplant. In the last year, Raphael’s mother has not been able to work regularly due to her role as his chief medical advocate, communicating with his doctors and medical team, coordinating his care and always trying to get him the best care for his ever critical condition. With all that she has seen him go through and being by his side 24:7, she has become his #1 Nurse and has learned the skills needed to sustain him when he has breathing issues or medical distress of any kind.

After reviewing his case, the best chance for him to survive is to work with out-of-state experts with better expertise and resources with possible relocation.

With limited income in the last year and while supporting two daughters and another son at home, Raphael’s parents are asking, first and foremost, for your prayers. Please pray for his family to be at peace and trust God’s will for their son as they continue to navigate some of the most challenging days of their lives.

Due to the parent's loss of income and the mother’s unstable and uncertain work status, please consider helping the family financially.
