Baby Quincy's battle with Hepatoblastoma

Donation protected
Dear friends, family and kind-hearted individuals,

We write to you with a heavy heart to share that our nephew, Quincy was recently diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer. Quincy was born February 19, 2023, a seemingly healthy and thriving baby boy. A small ER visit for vomiting turned into any parent’s worst nightmare when doctors discovered a large tumor in Qunicy’s liver. It was devastating to learn that this sweet bundle of joy had been diagnosed with cancer at such a fragile age of only 6 months.

Hepatoblastoma is very rare and affects 1 to 2 in 1 million children. The journey ahead for Quincy is going to be long and arduous, filled with intense treatment, numerous hurdles and uncertainty to overcome.

Quincy has been in the PICU for several weeks now and has already begun an immediate intensive chemotherapy regimen that is expected to last a grueling 6 months. This challenging treatment plan aims to shrink the tumor, reduce the cancer's spread, and give Quincy the best chance at recovery. Unfortunately, he has already had to endure being intubated and several blood transfusions. In addition, future treatments remain uncertain as he navigates the hurdles around this disease.

As you can imagine, this is one of the scariest things to have to face as new parents. It is with hope that we come together for Quincy, Charlene and Tommy in their most difficult and vulnerable time to support them as they face the challenges ahead.

Please join us in spreading awareness and rallying behind Quincy. Your generosity, prayers, and positive thoughts will be deeply appreciated. We don’t know what life will look like for the foreseeable future but together, we can offer them hope and strength and show them that they are not alone in this battle.

Kindly note this new reality for them is painful and overwhelming. Only with reluctance, we got the okay to share this information but they would like time to process. Please contact me directly in the space below if you have any questions or ideas on how we can help these two kind and selfless individuals navigate this tumultuous time. Words of encouragement are very welcomed and much appreciated. Thank you immensly to our village for being the helping hands that Quincy so desperately needs.

With heartfelt gratitude, Quincy’s family
