Help Baby Oakley ,Jessica and their family

Hi, my name is Kristina. Yesterday, February 7th , my friend Jessica’s 9 week old baby Oakley, had to be rushed to the emergency room for having trouble breathing. Upon arrival the hospital there at the coast determined that he would need to be put on oxygen and transferred by life flight ambulance to a hospital in Medford, Oregon better equipped to deal with pediatric cases. Only one parent is allowed to fly with him , so his mom, Jessica had to drive the 2 and a half hours over to be with him.

Once in Medford, Rogue Valley Medical Center, it was determined Oakley was suffering from RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection). His condition deteriorated very quickly. He had to be intubated, and put on a feeding tube. This escalated his case of RSV to needing more specialized care, requiring another transfer by air ambulance to Doernbechers hospital (OHSU) in Portland, OR. As of about 2am today February 8th Baby Oakley is on a ventilator and feeding tube, battling this horrible virus. With mom and dad by his side.

With the unexpected flights, having to drive first to Medford then Portland the same day, cost of food ,fuel, David (dad) being unable to work, this has already caused this family a lot of unexpected costs. That with the uncertainty of how long baby Oakley will be in the hospital,

this family is going to need our help to make it through this traumatic time without any extra stress worrying about a place to stay /shower, meals, fuel, bills, rent and the care of the three girls they had to leave at home in Brookings over 300 miles away from where they are in the hospital with Oakley.
