Help Baby Norah Thrive: A Family's Journey Towards Healing

Donation protected
Natalie Husfeldt and Mike Stuart are proud parents to precious baby girl, Norah, and big sister, Eleanore. On March 15th, their lives took an unexpected turn when Norah entered this world through an emergency Caesarean section. What should have been a joyous moment quickly turned into a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty.

Norah was born with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy due to a lack of oxygen at birth. Since then, their little fighter has been under the care of an incredible team at the NICU and paediatric critical care units in London. Their journey has been filled with ups and downs, and just when they thought they could bring Norah home to Thunder Bay, complications arose; they had to return to London after spending 9 days in Thunder Bay.

Upon their return, Norah was diagnosed with a brain stem injury that will impact her swallowing, breathing, speech, and more. The long-term prognosis remains unclear, adding another layer of uncertainty to their already challenging situation.

Currently, their family is staying at the Ronald McDonald House, where they find solace and support during this difficult time. However, as Norah's condition stabilizes, they face the daunting reality of what lies ahead. Norah will require extensive critical care once she is able to return home. From frequent suctioning to oxygen therapy and tube feeding, her needs are complex and demanding.

Unfortunately, these medical needs come with significant financial burdens. Despite their best efforts, the costs of necessary medical equipment, travel expenses, and home renovations to accommodate Norah's condition quickly add up. Moreover, the intensive care required means that both Natalie and Mike will be unable to work outside the home for the foreseeable future, further straining their financial resources.

This is where we turn to you, our community, for support. Your generosity can make a world of difference in Norah's journey towards healing and give their family the stability and peace of mind they desperately need. Every donation, no matter how small, will help them provide Norah with the care and resources she needs to thrive.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support during this challenging time. Together, we can give Norah the fighting chance she deserves.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Laura Collins and Family
