Hi my name is Racheal and am fundraising for my friend’s baby Sunshine.

I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Nasaazi Janet and her 9-month-old baby girl, Nekesa Sunshine, who are facing an unimaginable and heartbreaking medical crisis.

Recently, Baby Nekesa was given the wrong medication, which caused a severe reaction and led to a dangerous lack of oxygen reaching her hands and feet. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, the damage is irreversible. The medical team has informed the family that Baby Nekesa will need to undergo multiple surgeries, including the amputation of her fingers and feet, in order to save her life.

This situation has left Janet completely devastated—emotionally, physically, and financially. She is spending every moment by her baby’s side in the hospital, unable to work, while also preparing for the long road ahead: surgeries, rehabilitation, special equipment, and the long-term care Baby Nekesa will need as she grows.

The funds raised will go toward:

• Medical expenses because there is no insurance covering the expenses In Uganda,

• Post-surgery care and rehabilitation

• Transportation to and from the hospital

• Specialized equipment and future prosthetics

• Emotional and mental health support for Janet
