Help Baby Maverick on His Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Thursday night, our sweet baby Maverick started showing signs of bloating, and by Friday morning, things had worsened. During his one-week checkup, the doctor grew very concerned—not only about the swelling but also because Maverick was struggling to breathe.
He was rushed by Mercy Flight to Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, where doctors quickly discovered a life-threatening twist in his intestines. The lack of blood flow had already caused severe damage. Maverick was taken into emergency surgery, where half of his intestines had to be removed due to the tissue dying from the lack of circulation.
The surgeons had to stop the procedure early because his little body was under too much strain. Maverick is now recovering from this initial surgery and is currently having another operation to complete the repair and reposition everything properly.
He has a long, uncertain road ahead—but he is fighting.
This journey has been overwhelming for Matt and Steph. Matt is taking time off work to be with Maverick and still juggling time at home with their other two children, Max and Maddie. Steph has been by Maverick’s side in the hospital while also managing her own medical recovery from recent surgeries.
We are asking for your help. Any donation—big or small—will go directly toward helping Matt and Steph cover:
Medical and hospital-related expenses
Time missed from work
Travel and parking costs
Childcare for Max and Maddie
Steph’s own ongoing medical care
If you're not able to donate at this time, please consider sharing this page and keeping Maverick in your thoughts and prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this difficult time.
