On what was supposed to be a simple shopping trip, life changed in an instant for 10-month-old Maverick and his family.

Maverick tragically fell from a carrier onto a hard concrete floor, suffering a serious brain bleed. Emergency CPR was performed on the scene, and he was rushed to CHOC Hospital where doctors acted quickly to perform life-saving brain surgery.

By the grace of God, Maverick is showing signs of steady recovery but his journey is far from over. His neurological condition remains uncertain, and only time will reveal the full impact of this traumatic injury.

His mother, overwhelmed with shock and grief, is now facing the unimaginable: navigating a medical crisis while caring for her other young child and trying to stay strong in the face of it all. She has had to take leave from work to be by Maverick’s side every step of the way putting financial strain on a family already fighting through heartbreak.
