My grandson’s mother, Rachel King, and her husband, Kyle, had this beautiful baby girl on June 16 by cesarean section, and things were not quite right. Lil Mabel was flown to another hospital while mom had to stay to recover from her own surgery. It had become a high-risk pregnancy, and this sweet baby’s intestines were blocked, a condition called intestinal atresia- She’s already had one surgery and is due to have another as soon as the end of this week. She has been in the NICU since her birth, and the parents don’t live very close by, driving every day more than 25 miles one way to visit their precious Mabel. To love and cuddle for a few hours and return home to her big brother and be in good spirits and try to live positively while knowing this sweet thing can’t come home yet. Having an outrageously high deductible during her pregnancy was tough. Hundreds of dollars twice a week at the end, but now it’s fuel for the truck just to see her along with what else comes with it all.
